When you are talking about taking proper care of your dog there are several things to consider. Every dog needs to have at least fifteen minutes of walking every day to remain healthy. Larger dogs tend to need about two hours of exercise to stay healthy. If you own a small dog you may wish to invest in a pet carrier that allows you to travel with the dog, rather than have them walk. In my opinion dog carriers are okay, if they are not used every time. It is okay for your dog to walk for fifteen minutes and then get a rest in the carrier. You should never carry them every where they go. It is true that some small dog breeds can get heatstroke or become extremely overtaxed by making them walk a lot. So it is always good to have either a stop during your travels or carry them for a little while.
