Choosing the correct dog food for your pet dog is very important as different dogs as well as dogs of different ages have varying dietary needs. Older dogs need different food than puppies, and adult dogs have other dietary needs to stay healthy. Also certain brands of dog food may not agree with your dog or make them sluggish. If this is the case you should see about changing their food to see if that is the cause of the problem. If you are unsure of what brand or type of food may be the best for your dog you should speak with your veterinarian.
Dog food is made specifically for dogs and their digestive tracts. It is not smart to feed your dog human food as many time the dog’s stomach cannot handle the food, or as in the case of chocolate the food might actually be harmful to the dog. If as a puppy you fed your dog human food then you may have a very hard time switching to regular dog food. The younger the dog is brought up on dog food the easier time you will have getting them to consume it. It is important that the food is tasty and your dog likes it otherwise the dog will refuse to eat.
