Doing the Pirate Halloween Costume the Right Way
Understand that when you dress up in one of your pirate Halloween costumes for October 31st festivities or other party events, to really pull it off, don’t be so obnoxious with the outfit. Just because you might have an eye patch and speak with the occasional argh peppered here and there, it won’t be enough to come off as a genuine pirate. Then again, maybe you don’t care! And that’s okay. But keep it all in check. If you’re a guy and you start growing your beard months before you intend to wear your pirate costume, then that might be a bit much. On the flip side, there’s nothing like being as authentic as possible, but you have to remember, this is just a costume that you are going to have on for only a few hours or so! Note some of the key elements that make up a proper pirate costume. For example, the dyed in the wool pirate has got to be missing a leg. Want a simple method to follow along in Bluebeard’s foot steps? Use a couple of sturdy sticks of a length to run from your knee to just above the ground and some other simple items will give you a pretty good looking peg leg. That’s part of the fun of the pirate Halloween costume.
