My branch was in trouble, So, we trained for Cisco Certification.
The employees working for me had been struggling with their work for some time. I did not know what I needed to do to inspire them. They just didn’t seem able to do their work to the quality level that I was beginning to expect. Word came from the higher offices that downsizing would be taking place and that my branch would need to improve their numbers or we would be considered for the downsizing. I didn’t want that to happen to these people, as they had become my friends over the years. I thought of everything that I might do to help them do their work at a better pace and with better quality. Finally, it occurred to me, the only thing that I could do was to put them through CISCO training and CCNA training to help them get their CISCO certification.
I began the program myself and eventually handed it off to some professionals that would be able to help with the CCNA training. After some time, a large number of necessary staff had gained their CISCO certification through the training and began to outperform most of the other branches in the area within just a couple weeks of work. After a month or so, my branch had become the top branch in our company and the bosses decided that, not only were we not to be downsized, but we were to be given bonuses and a higher budget. This training saved my branch.
