Some people just don’t know exactly what to say, or have never really given an important speech before. A wedding is a very large occasion, and the pressure for everything to go right on the happiest day of the bride’s life; is enormous. This includes the speech. The speech of the bride’s father, is usually more a heartwarming, somewhat emotional speech, along with a few amusing quotes. But the pressure to come off with a eloquent, wise and sage-like sounding speech is pretty heavy, and it is something which will only add to the stress the father is already undergoing. All this lends to a tendency to put off writing such an important speech, until it is a little too late and panic starts to set it.
