An adventure of a lifetime: The Kokoda Experience
If you were to ask a group of people what the Kokoda Track means to them you would get a different response with each individual. Many people believe the Kokoda Track to be simply a trek, but it is so much more than that.
While the Kokoda Track is a trek (and quite a trek at that!) it is also a challenge you set for yourself, an adventure of a lifetime, a life changing experience, a rite of passage that allows you to not only pay your respects to those who have gone before you, but also a way for you to feel connected to the country, your group- and yourself.
Participating in a Kokoda trek is no walk in the park. It is a gruelling experience that will teach you more about yourself by pushing you to the limit physically, mentally and emotionally. While participating in a trek along the Kokoda Track you will also learn about Papua New Guinea, its people and the history of the track that so many brave soldiers walked before you.
You can participate in a trek with a friend or a family member, but if you have no one to go with it is not a problem. There are many other likeminded people who are keen to experience the Kokoda Track and are travelling alone. Besides that, when walking the track you work as a team where no man is left behind, and many friendships are formed through the Kokoda experience.
Whatever your objective for the Kokoda Track journey, it will not disappoint. You will return home a changed person, with a story you can tell you friends and family for years to come and memories that will last a lifetime.
