Do You Need A New High Efficiency Furnace?
Not long ago we replaced our old furnace with a new one. This was not actually a necessity because the unit was still working pretty well. The problem was that it was over 25 years old, and it is said that old furnaces run the risk of leaking and emitting carbon monoxide. In addition, the efficiency of that old system was nowhere near the efficiency of newer systems, so operating costs and lower heating bills were also a benefit of the new system. If memory serves, the new system has an efficiency rating of just over ninety per cent, while the old system was probably in the sixty per cent range.
Heating Denver Co has lots of information about heating systems that is applicable for anyone regardless if you heat your home with a forced air system like mine, or if you use other methods, like a heat pump, for example.
