Electric Golf Carts Work
Nowadays golf carts are not meant just for golfers. It has gained widespread popularity. The basic use of this vehicle is to transport the players and their equipments inside the gold course. But as time advanced they gained much more popularity and they are now used outside the golf courses too. It is now used by a variety of people ranging from students to old age peoples. The carts are commonly seen in retirement communities, resorts, hotels, airports, shopping malls etc. They are also used in university campuses. It is due to the ease in using, its comfort, small size and cheap price that has led to increasing demand. Now some people own these carts to show off their wealth and status.
Golf carts are of two major types. The electric powered carts and the gasoline powered carts. Electric Golf carts were the first ones to be introduced. The demand for more power and space led to the introduction of gasoline powered carts. Electric carts are more advantageous than the gasoline types as they are free from pollution, economical and cheaper than the counterpart. They also have a silent operation. Electric golf cart are getting popular because of its low carbon emission. They are very quiet and do not emit any gases. So it is used in old age home and in retirement communities where silence has to be maintained along with a healthy surrounding.
Electric Golf carts run on the power of electricity or charge stored in the battery cells. They consist of a DC battery which can be recharged by plugging on to a power supply source. The battery stores the charge and utilizes while running the cart. Some advanced carts use solar panels for converting the sun’s energy into electrical energy and then store in the battery. Solar panels are installed on the top of the cart and hence they are continuously being charged while on the field or anywhere out in the sun.
The battery of the golf cart has to be maintained properly to ensure smooth working of the cart and to avoid unnecessary breakdown. The cells of the batter should be well immersed in distilled water to ensure its health. If the battery water level runs down then be sure to refill with only distilled water. If proper maintenance is not done then it could lead to poor performance of battery as well as the whole cart.
