Have You Tried Vacation Cabin Camping?
While I love nature, hiking and being outdoors, I draw the line at sleeping on the hard ground in a tent. Until recently, I thought I would just have to pass on camping trips. My friends invited me to join them at a rented vacation cabin they had for a week. Boy, was I surprised to learn how comfortable roughing it in nature can be.
Not only did this cabin come with beds, a kitchen area, and private bathroom, but it had a/c and heating as well. This was a perfect option to the hassle of pitching a tent, hiding a cooler from roaming wildlife, and sneaking behind a tree to pee. Now I am hooked and plan on making reservations for my own cabin rental.
Honestly, even a comfort queen like me, would be pleasantly surprised at the modern luxuries cabin camping can provide. Of course, there are more rustic campsites for those who want to truly get away from it all. I am probably somewhere in the middle of luxury camping and primitive camping.
If you have turned your nose up and said, “yuck” to camping in the past, you may want to open your mind a bit and give these nature cabins a try. That way you will not miss out on a fun adventure with friends who love to camp.
