How The Federal Government Helps Our Seniors
Senior citizens literally have been there and done that. They have fought in wars and worked in our nation’s factories helping to contribute to the greatness that is the United States.
Sadly though, after a lifetime of work many of our elderly face financial hardships and have little income to live on save for the monthly Social Security check they receive.
This can make it very difficult for a senior to pay their basic living expenses and because of this the government established senior citizen government subsidized housing programs to help any senior that is in truly dire straits.
In order to qualify the applicant needs to be at least 62 and have a very low income as defined by the state and county where they live.
If they qualify, the senior subsidized housing program will pay 70% of their rent and utilities which can make a huge difference in a senior’s limited budget.
It is programs like this that helps needy seniors have a place to live where they can enjoy their golden years in safety and comfort.
