How To Install Electric Conduit

Many people are not familiar with the term electric conduit. It is basically a piping system that is installed in the buildings to prevent the electrical wirings of houses, offices and all sorts of buildings from being exposed. They help to keep the wires secure and safe from all sorts of things that might lead to some sort of short circuit and cause damage to the infra structure of the buildings.

However there are different types of electric conduit present in the market made up of different materials that are helpful in the protection of the electric material of the buildings and houses. The most popular and readily available electric conduit in the market is made of plastic. As there are different advantages it is not easily breakable and is a good non conductor of electricity.

The electric conduit are mainly installed by the electricians while forming the infra structure of the building. If there is any sort of alteration required in the electric system of the building it is easily done through the electric conduit and it also helps to simplify the layout of the electric system of the building.

Different electric materials are used for this purpose. Such as to prevent the electric system of the building from any sort of electric magnetic filed the conduit is made of some metal. While they are sometimes made out of plastic so that the electric system is safe from moisture, or any harmful chemical vapor that might lead to some sort of short circuit.

In the case where you have to install the conduit yourself here are steps that will help you through out:

i. First of all you need to mark the place where the conduit is to be installed. That is you should be aware of the position from where you will begin your work.

ii. The first thing that you should do is go to the main panel of the house or the building you are installing the conduit. Remove the knockout seal from the top of the panel, and then add a 1” conduit. Do not forget to switch the main supply off; you can even put a piece of card board on the breakers for safety sake. Then take the conduit and run it if there are any bends required you can take the 1” conduits and install them. If anchors are required to fix the conduit in place then install them according to your required you can either use plastic ones or wedge ones if you are putting the conduit in a concrete wall.

iii. At the end make sure that everything is safely done and nothing is left unattended. When putting everything in the receptacle box you have secured everything. Last but not the least while working you should be very care with your tools; make sure they are not lost.

Even though for the best results you are advised to hire a professional. But these steps will help you save the money of hiring a professional, why to waste so much when you can do everything on your own and save a lot.

There are numerous advantages of the electric conduit and if you have not installed them in your house or office building it is never too late for it. All you have to do is get the electric conduit of your choice that serves you the best made of the most suitable electrical materials, as every building have their own requirements. You do not have to be a professional or hire one you can just follow the steps and install them yourself.
