Maqui berry has been getting lots of press lately as the only serious challenger to the Acai berry which is used by many people. This is because Maqui Berry is the most antioxidant rich fruit on the planet having over 3 times the ORAC value than Acai.
Here are some of the purported benefits of Maqui and while some have been clinically proven the rest are anecdotal and should be considered questionable.
Immediate Benefits Of Maqui Berry
Supposedly when you first start to take Maqui you will get a big boost in your energy levels. This helps to motivate you to exercise more thus promoting better health and aiding in weight loss.
Also, Maqui berry is supposed to help detox your body because of the high antioxidant levels found in the fruit.
Long Term Benefits Of Maqui Berry
It has been said that as you continue to take Maqui Berry supplements you will notice your complexion, nails and hair start to look healthier.
The claim is that this is due to the boost Maqui gives to your immune system and that it will help give your skin a smooth and healthy glow, strengthen you nails and give your hair more shine.
Does Maqui Really Do These Things?
That is hard to say because you will always get some people that swear by it and others that swear at it. I personally think that some of these touted benefits are not real but from what I have found there does seem to be some benefit to taking Maqui. Most notably was the article on Fox News that had positive things to say about the new “superfood”.
