People Wonder Exactly Why They Get Wrinkled Fingertips
Many people wonder exactly why they get wrinkled fingertips whenever they get out of the tub, or after being in the pool for an extended period of time during those hot summer days. This is primarily due to absorption of water by the skin cells. We always tend to have a layer of old skin debris on the surface of the skin and a protein referred to as keratin actually soaks up water in these areas. As the hands are apt to have higher concentrations of keratin it means that these areas and primarily the tips of the fingers take in more water than other places around the body.
It will take some time for that water to get through a defensive layer of oil and this is why you do not get wrinkled fingertips immediately. However, the longer you’re submerged in the water the more of the defensive oil is washed away and the more water is soaked up into all those skin cells.
There are many potential causes, though and folks often need to know why they’ve got wrinkled fingertips when they have not really been near a bath or a pool in a long while.
Occasionally, this issue could be the effect of a deficit of efa’s in your diet. Many people have a lack of omega-3, as your body is not able to naturally produce it. We require this anti-inflammatory to help with so many bodily functions as well as to ward off the growth of some unpleasant illnesses and diseases. However, unless you eat fatty fish frequently or take a great fish-oil supplement chances are that you will be deficient in this region.
