Types of computer viruses affecting your PC security system

Virus attacks on PC security are more damaging and harmful to the data available in store. Types of computer virus

Resident viruses

Directory viruses

They act in the system changing the path of the file location once they get executed (file with .com or .exe extension). They are difficult to get identified as they keep changing the originality of the file locations constantly.

Polymorphic Viruses

This virus duplicates making copies and allows it to spread along the computers via linked chain of files connectivity. When ever the replication is done they change the digital signature thus making the top anti virus to stammer in finding the virus right away. This activity helps in spreading of virus from one system to another too while communication link is created on a network. Polymorphic virus are detected and removed only with the help of more sophisticated and advanced version of anti virus scan.

Trojan horse

The basic activity of this virus is to establish its presence into the system and starts it infectivity, but they never replicate. The consequences of this virus are more harmful to the system as they affect the system security as the malicious functionality if tougher at times. They are being acquired via download attachments and along with other programs.

Companion virus

This form of virus is similar to that of the resident one, once they enter the system they start accompanying the existing files. When a file is called this virus also gets called up and is being run unknowingly. They also make copies to spread along other files and systems staying in the memory.
