Raindrop Pet Fountain – Basic info on Cheap Cat Drinking Fountain

Published by Jimmy Carter under Home And Family, Pet, Pets

The flowing water effect from a cat water fountain will easily attract the interest of every curious cat that sees them. This will eliminate the need to teach them on exactly how to work with it but instead they will find out about it on their own. Pet water fountains are suitable for small dog and cat owners who are much occupied and constantly away from home.

Depending on the product you choose and how big the water tank is, just simply fill it up first thing in the morning and it will be good enough to take care of your pets the entire day or perhaps a couple of days till next refill. If you are planning to take a quick holiday vacation, say two or three nights, you can combine it with an automatic cat feeder and fill it up just before leaving them. Finally you can get pleasure from your holiday vacation without worrying about your beloved pets. The pet water fountain will ensure that they get refreshingly clear water continuously.

The cat drinking fountain works by distributing the water from the water tank using a compact submersible pump. The water then moves through a series of water filters to filter the water impurities including dirt and other harmful particles that come in contact with the water. It actually has a combination of two water filters, a micron filter for unknown substances that are blended with the water and a charcoal filter to take out bad flavor and odor. What they get is a crystal clear healthy drinking water anytime they need it. To be able to keep the correct operation of the water fountain, the filters needs to be replaced on a regular basis. These filters can be obtained in most pet suppliers or in the store where you bought the device.

With rising fuel costs and a bad economy, the cost of flying is simply too prohibitive to a lot of would-be travelers, but if you keep your eyes open and wait for the right opportunity to come along; affordable airline ticket deals do present themselves.

I thought about making a trip to Baltimore this past August. It is my hometown, and I now live in Texas, so the thought of visiting a cooler environment was very appealing to me in the dog days of summer.

My aunt lives in Baltimore and told me that I could probably end up spending about $400 for a round-trip flight in August, and I was fine with that, but I decided to wait and see if any better airline ticket deals came along. A few weeks later, one did.

It was an offer that I received through Travelocity for a round trip to BWI Airport for $301, which included taxes. I would have to travel in October, which was actually fine with me because weather reports from the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area indicated that the temperatures there in August were not much cooler than they were here in Texas.

I few months later, I decided that I would like to make a trip to Las Vegas, because I had never been there and because I had always heard that it was a city you would never forget once you had visited.

I looked around for some airline ticket deals that would allow me to save some money for the slots, and sure enough, I found one for under $300, with option of adding a hotel room and rental car for not much more.

What I have come to realize is that in this troubled economy, the airlines are beginning to realize that they can’t charge people the same prices they were a few years ago and still expect the same kind of business, so they are starting to cut back to get more passengers.

I have continued to research, and I’ve found that affordable airline ticket deals to come along on a regular basis for a variety of cities throughout the United States and around the world. You just have to keep on the lookout and be prepared to travel within a few weeks.

I make it a point to check out such deals each week and try to find new destinations to which I can travel, so I am constantly asking friends and relatives if they know anybody in Seattle, or Chicago or Boston. It is actually a lot of fun, and with airline ticket deals becoming more and more prevalent, it does not put too big of a dent in your wallet, either.

Your Cat’s Peeing Issues

Published by look2succeed under Articles

Does your cat pee on the carpet, leaving urinate odor, rather than use a litter box? Well, there could be a very good reason why your cat made a mess on that floor or carpet. Cats, similar to dogs, will sometimes mark their territory by what we call spray. However, it is always performed vertically (on furniture, drapes, etc.) and never done on the floor or on the carpet.

To drill down to the reason why your cat is performing this way, you will need to be a “pet detective” and watch what might be wrong with your cat. You will need to observe and make note of the following things:

1. Often times, this type of urinating on the floor behavior are an indication that your cat has come down with a disease. When was the last time your Vet did a check-up on the cat?

2. Is your litter box dirty, stinky, or in need of fresh sand? Cats always prefer a clean box.

3. Does your litter box fit the size of your cat? A cat needs to be able to turn around without running into the litter box walls. Or, maybe it is up too close to a wall?

4. Where did you locate the litter box in your home? A cat always prefers that it be in a quiet place, such as a garage, basement, or a porch.

5. Do you own more than one cat? This could be a problem, as there are cats that refuse to share a litter box with another cat. In this case, you will need to prepare a separate box for each cat.

6. Do you observe your cat being stressed? Many times a cat will react to stress in a bad way, and will need to find a quiet spot in your home to hide. Is such a spot available to your cat?

7. Is your cat behaving unnaturally? Does your cat enjoy the home and the location of the litter box? You may need to seek advice from a Vet who can administer professional treatment.

Would you like your cat to thank you for your good care? Then there are specific tasks you can focus on in providing him a clean environment in which to live.

1. When preparing the litter box, first put down 2 or 3 pages of newspaper on the bottom of the box. Next, fill the box with enough litter to raise its level 3 inches.

2. The litter box should be changed every 3 days. A friend of mine was changing his every day, but that is an over kill.

3. Never place the litter box on top of carpet, as it may feel to your cat that it is also litter.

4 .Take the whole box once every 2 or 3 weeks and completely clean it out.

5. Be careful to not use strong chemicals, such as ammonia, to clean the box. A mild soap is all that you will need. Those strong chemical odors can hurt the cat’s sensitive smell.

6. If you should see a big mess in the litter box, then get it (scoop it) out right away.

7. When buying and using the clumping type of litter, then scoop it out every day.

Our next article will deal with odor and stains left behind by your cat urinating on the floor or carpet. Your average cleanser found in the home will never work on eliminating cat odor in the home.

Being raised in the catholic religion

Published by krbakken under Articles

About the catholic religion

Raised in a relatively strict house, I am a thirtysomething male who has been unable to justify the dogmas of the catholic religionwith the secular realities of modern life. I am not in the midst of a spiritual crisis, or a lost sheep who has strayed from the flock. I am a realist and a pragmatist who has come to realize that the catholic religion has accounted for more bad than good in recent history, and I have, as a result, divorced myself from their way of thinking.

Take, for example, the current and ever-growing pedophilia scandal. It has become apparent that the catholic church has engaged in the most heinous of crimes – hiding child molesters from the law – over a period of centuries. Not just years. Not just decades. Centuries. Centuries of hiding kid touches from the law. If there was any bit of news that was designed to turn one from the catholic religion toward secularism, that would be it.

Dog training supplies and products

Published by JaneH under Articles

An important part of being a dog owner is giving your pet proper training. It’s just like with kids, if they don’t get a thorough upbringing by their parents this might come to haunt them later in life. Not having been taught the virtues of discipline and good behavior can be catastrophic, especially for dogs.

To help you on your way there are many dog training supplies and products available on the market. Everything from books and dvd’s, to starter kits for dog training. Books and dvd’s are great in that you can follow your own timeline, and test out the things you have learned as you progress. They are very affordable too, which always is great.

Dog whistles are also a smart thing to use in your dog training. These can be bought online, and are great for teaching your dog obedience.

There are, however, situations that need professional help. Dog biting problems, for example, must be fixed, or your dog might have to be put down if an episode were to occur. Dog training camps or professional dog trainers might be able to help you get rid of this problem.

As with your kids, it is important to start the training at an early age. That way you won’t have to “unlearn” your dog specific bad habits he or she has picked up their way. Actually, if you have a disciplined approach to the training, it will be a breeze.

Dog Training Biting – Inhibit Puppy Biting.

Published by noelben under Articles

Bringing home a new puppy and introducing it to the family should be fun for not only you, but the family and the puppy too.

There is a downside to this fun and excitement, the challenge to rid the puppy of bad behavior problems, and to do that we need basic puppy training skills especially dog training biting, training skills because dog biting is a very important behavior pattern that you would want to make sure that your dog has right.

Inhibiting Mouthing and Biting.

Mouthing and Biting is a basic animal instinct and a very common activity among young puppies and dogs of all breeds.

Dogs naturally bite and mouth each other while playing while young and with their siblings and social pack, and it is also natural that they extend this behavior towards their human companions.

While dogs, even the little puppies have tough hides and thick skins, we humans do not, so it is for our own protection that we teach the puppy what is appropriate, and what is not appropriate, when it comes to using his or her razor sharp teeth.

This part of dog training biting is called ‘biting inhibition’. We should not remove the ability or instinct of the dog to bite, but only inhibit it.

While biting being a normal reflex, may be cute and most of the time harmless in a little puppy, it could be very dangerous and cause serious injuries when the dog has grown to full adulthood.

It becomes very important that a puppy is thought how to control his urge to bite well before it is in his or her fourth or fifth month.

Training a puppy not to bite is an important part of any dog training program. Biting behavior if not corrected will only get worse, and what was harmless behavior when it was a puppy can escalate to very dangerous, destructive behavior when it is an adult dog.

Allergy Cleaning Toronto gives you a clean home

Published by mg2009 under Articles

LUX Cleaning Services Toronto knows how controlling the home environment is a very important part of asthma and allergy care. Allergies can be triggered by pets, indoor mold and dust mites. Almost all pets can cause allergies, including dogs, cats and especially small animals like birds, hamsters and guinea pigs. Other than pet hair, mold is also a common allergen. When humidity is high, molds can be a problem in bathrooms, kitchens, and basements, and areas that have bad air circulation. As for dust mites, they are tiny, microscopic spiders usually found in house dust. Several thousand mites can be found in a pinch of dust. Mites are one of the major triggers for people with allergies and asthma. They need the most work to remove. If you’re not confident that you can completely remove those allergens, let LUX Cleaning Services Toronto help you.

If you decide to improve your home environment and give our service as try, please visit Allergy Cleaning Toronto . We use canister style vacuum for the best clean. We like to vacuum places where uprights can’t go and dust mites like to hide. We can improve your indoor air by 100%. Our vacuums are true HEPA filtered, so after running the vacuum for a couple of hours in your home, the air is fresh and dust free. Our products are non-toxic, they don’t contain chemicals that would further trigger your allergies. We’d rather spend more time scrubbing than using products that will leave your home unhealthy.

Using Pepper Spray on Pit Bulls and Any Aggressive Dog

Published by gpwriter under Articles

Many people wonder about the effectiveness of using pepper spray on pit bulls because they have either heard or read stories that such a defense tool will not work or they are so fearful of this kind of dog that they simply do not believe that a simple spray could work, thinking that all that would happen is the already angry and vicious dog will become even more angry. My new article briefly discusses the effectiveness of dog pepper spray and actually any type of pepper spray as personal defense tool and a way to deter or put off a would-be assailant, either human or animal. There have been stories about pepper spray not being effective on pit bulls. That may be. But make sure you have all the facts before you believe such stories. Look, pepper spray, when used properly, intensely stings and burns the eyes, nose, and potentially the inside of the mouth of the target. Make sure you are close enough to the target’s face to get a good amount of the spray to hit that face. Many dogs, not just pit bulls, can and so exhibit bad, potentially harmful behavior. It is wise to respect this fact when you encounter, either near or at a distance, any strange dog. When you are out and about hiking or walking or biking or roller blading or whatever, you would be smart to carry dog pepper spray and to even more importantly, become familiar with how to use it properly so that it works. Because it does in fact work. But like any tool, you must learn how to apply it so that it gets its job done. See my article for more information and resources to buy dog pepper spray, especially if you are concerned about using pepper spray on pit bulls.

Things About Pets That You Might Not Have Known

Published by tokyosoon under Articles

Animals have always played a very important role in lives of people of different civilizations.   Whether used for hunting, esthetic purposes or company, pets have  been a considerable source of joy for their owners.  For instance, dogs and various types of birds often were domesticated in ancient Rome. Evidence that those animals were utilized as a means of relaxation and comfort can be found on many sculptures and mosaics saved from that period of time. Certain kinds of dogs from that era, like the Greyhound (AKA Italians Greyhounds) are still around today, but were once used as “hot pillows” when the ancient people were suffering from illnesses. Unlike cats, dogs in the ancient Rome always had names.  Casca, Juba, Titus and Sila are examples of Roman names given to the dogs at that time.

4,000 years ago, cats are rumored to have first been domesticated by the Egyptians. They were first used to kill rodents, but then the Egyptians became quite fond of the cats. Cats are clearly illustrated as an important part of day-to-day life on some Egyptian tomb scenes. Statues of cats were also paced in front of homes, to protect its owners from evil spirits and bad luck.  The feline goddess that protected all cats and children was named Bastet. The Egyptian people were sure to guard their treasured and cherished cats, but cats also had the backing of the Egyptian legal system since if a cat was injured, the perpetrator could be killed. Cats could not be taken out of Egypt and it appears that groups of hunters would be unleashed to return the cats to their rightful place.

Having fish or reptiles as pets was something that occurred years ago, as well. Evidence of goldfish kept as pets exists as far back as 220-390 B.C. during the Chun dynasty. Buddhist monks, royalty and other people held in high esteem were typically the ones who had goldfish as pets. Contained in bowls or other glass containers, goldfish became more commonplace in lots of households during the Ming dynasty Growing in popularity ,  these “ Golden carps” started to be widely bred and exported to Japan and Europe during the 15th century.  Their presence in a household was told be bring luck and prosperity.  Their gracious movements were also said to aid in relaxation and help with stress relief.

In all sorts of times and areas, animals have acted as wonderful companions and partners for individuals. A lot of us cannot currently imagine living if wer’e deprived of a pet. However, it is important to remember that we are accountable for the pets we take in. The purchase of a pet should take careful planning, and it shouldn’t be a spur of the moment decision. As pet owners, we have to ensure healthy and happy environment for our pets.  Cats and dogs need attention and love and having them is not to be taken lightly. We can acquire knowledge about how much love and attention we should give our pet from our ancestors. It is wonderful that we are now able to provide our pets with treats, toys, and accessories that were not available before. Not only is it possible, but it is very easy and rather cheap to do, for example an item like Drinkwell pet fountain is not expensive at all.  Let us too express our love and gratefulness to our pets, which give so much – yet demand so little.

Are You Controlling Bad Dog Behaviors?

Published by debidu under Articles

I have just put up a new post on my pets blog about controlling bad dog behaviors.

Most bad dog behavior is cute when they’re small, but never when they’re grown. A medium sized dog can bowl over a child with disastrous results. When your dog jumps up, grab his front paws and hold them away from you at the same height. Don’t allow him to stand down. Quite soon, he’ll think this is not a great idea. He wants be on all fours, like a good dog.

Train Your Dog Well

Published by JackLJones under Articles

Many families take a lot of joy out of having a pet. Dogs are often viewed as the ideal pet because you can interact so much with them. You can teach a dog tricks, take it for a walk, and it will always be a loyal companion. Some dogs like to test their owner’s patience by acting out. This may be in the form of barking non-stop, biting things around the house, or digging holes in the back yard. No pet owner wants to have to deal with bad dog behaviors like this. It’s not only frustrating, but it’s time consuming as well, if you don’t know how to effectively correct the problem.

Control Bad Dog Behaviors

Control Bad Dog Behaviors

What to do when Rover exhibits bad dog behaviors

Dog owners derive considerable happiness from these trusty pets. It’s known that older people who live alone, but have a dog are happier, healthier and live longer than those who don’t have the companionship of a furry friend.

Nonetheless, our beloved canines usually are at least mischevious sometimes, beating you to the newspaper and using it for a bone. At times, in his enthusiasm to love you, he jumps up to give you a hug and snags your favorite sweater on the way down. Then there’s downright bad dog behavior, such as snapping when annoyed or chasing the mail carrier. Dogs make wonderful pets, but they all must have training to quell their latent bad dog behavior tendencies. It’s best to start this training at an early age, because these bad habits just become harder to break, down the road.

Puppies tend to chew on anything small enough to fit between their paws. This is cute at first, unless it’s your prized Steinbeck first edition. You hate to punish this fuzzy little ball with teeth. You needn’t be harsh, but you’ve got to nip this habit in the bud. The old rolled-up newspaper is the best choice for this kind of discipline. It makes a loud noise, but does no more than sting that cute little nose for a moment. Even slapping the floor with the paper can do the trick.

Discouraging Bad Dog Behavior

Jumping up on people is not something you want to encourage. Most Bad Dog Behavior is cute when they’re small, but never when they’re grown. Don’t pet him or he’ll be confused, thinking it’s some sort of punishment-reward message. After several repeats, he won’t jump up on you or anyone else.

Nipping the Biting Puppy Behavior

Published by jaskilgore under Articles

While dogs are known as man’s best friend, you, as the dog owner, are responsible for the training of your dog, if you want him to live up to that lofty moniker. When you bring that cute puppy home, he’s a rambunctious and loving character. What he lacks is discipline and that’s where you come in. You need to fulfill your end of the bargain.

Dogs are generally the most lovable of creatures, inherently loyal, fun loving, comforting and amusing. However, you’ve got to face the fact that dogs are permanent three year olds, in terms of discipline. That’s why an early program of training is essential. Dogs absolutely love to please their owner. It’s up to you to let your puppy know what’s expected of him in the behavioral category. From his point of view, he’s in a constant state of having fun. He doesn’t know good from bad behavior unless you make the distinction. One of the most common dog behaviors you’ll want to curb is the Biting Puppy syndrome.
