Get The Ball Rolling For Internet Marketing Success

Published by JamesSchramko under Articles

A ball rolling down a hill is the perfect example of the success curve for Internet marketing. At the beginning, the ball is stationary, and it needs a little nudge to get started. For the Internet marketer, that nudge could be registering a new domain name for a new niche market you want to explore. As the ball starts rolling, it picks up speed. This is you actually setting up the website and building some starting content. Later, the ball has picked up even more speed thanks to gravity. This is you setting up some advertising or affiliate offers and you start to make some money. This may seem like an old metaphor, but there is one facet that often goes overlooked: the slope.

Gravity will pull the ball down even if the slope has the smallest angle. Gravity is your desire to succeed in your business. Even if your “slope,” which could translate to a small task (like writing one article), is tiny, that ball is still rolling forward and gaining momentum. Maybe after writing that first article, you still have free time to do a second. The momentum increases even more. Don’t get stuck thinking about your workload (the hill) as a whole. Think of it as a bunch of little tasks that add up to huge momentum, which will lead you to success.

It’s Always The Right Time For Internet Marketing Success

Published by JamesSchramko under Articles

The old adage says, “There’s no time like the present,” and that goes double for Internet marketing. The Internet is worldwide and covers every time zone so there are always potential site visitors and customers looking around for content you can provide. There is no magic time when you succeed. Starting a project two months from now will just leave you two months behind everyone else.

And in times of economic distress or recessions, starting immediately is imperative. Why? Because there are lots of other people just like you who are thinking about getting into Internet marketing, or are already established and are thinking about getting into a new niche market that you have targeted for yourself. Internet marketing and all facets of e-commerce are growing industries. Every minute that goes by makes the field more crowded and the competition fiercer. If you want to get to the top (and why wouldn’t you?), delaying would be like tying a sandbag to your back while running a foot race. All it does is slow you down.

Organized Work From Home

Published by JamesSchramko under Articles

One of the most important things to do when working from home over the internet is to create an organizational system that will keep you on track. There are a lot of different ways to do this, but I’ll share with you one that works great for me.

Hanging on my wall is a large dry erase marker whiteboard that is overlaid with a calen-dar grid. You can buy one of these at any office supply store. Whenever I get a new job, I write down short notes on the important dates. For example, if I have a job writing twenty web-content articles about cars that is due in two weeks, then I will write, “Cars – First Ten” on the square for a week from now, and “Cars – Finished” on the square for two weeks from now.

Because you are working over the internet and most, if not all, of the particulars of your work will be kept on your computer, you don’t need to go in depth on the calendar, just jot down reminders of the important dates. I used to use a standard paper calendar, but I found that the boxes were too small if I had a lot of projects going at once, plus, when you erase a square after completing that task, it gives you a definitive measure of progress.

It may seem like a small thing, but finding a way to physically display your progress can be a great motivator. I also keep a running tally of my earnings in the upper corner of the board. Whenever you get frustrated or bored with the work, just look at that number and think about how great your vacation is going to be this year, or whatever your motivation is.

Pick Your Method

It doesn’t really matter what method you use in order to keep yourself organized. Some people use calendar programs on their computer, others simply write out a list on a piece of scrap paper. I know a person who keeps sticky notes in a line on his desk and rearranges them as his schedule changes. A system like that would drive me crazy, but it works for him.

So feel free to experiment, but keep your deadlines in order. Once you have this sort of system worked out, you’ll be amazed at how easily other things fall into place. Just like any job, once you have a reliable system to deal with the work, it gets easier, and you can start taking on new challenges.

Affiliate Marketing Work For Everyone

Published by JamesSchramko under Articles

Retirees, stay-at-home moms and dads, students and people with physical disabilities – people from just about all sections of the community and from all ethnic backgrounds – are working from home using affiliate marketing programs.

Affiliate advertisers set up a webpage (it is now a very easy thing to do!) and on it they promote another company’s service or product. They do not however, have the burden of buying stock, posting orders or engaging in any invoicing system – the financial transaction and fulfilment of the order and both are done by the product owner/distributor. The affiliate is paid a commission on each sale, in a similar way to how a sales agent is paid.

The affiliate relationship is handled electronically. When a client decides to purchase the product via a link from the affiliates webpage, a code embedded with their information is transmitted with the order. Once the purchaser has paid for the product or service, the owner/distributor arranges delivery of the product, and the affiliate’s commission deposited directly to the nominated account.

Affiliate marketing has great potential to initially be a supplemental income, but with a little effort, and good products to sell, the affiliates earnings will increase dramatically.

One of the great advantages of affiliate marketing is that once the site and the affiliate relationship is established, apart from promoting the product, the affiliate can just sit back and watch their commission balance grow. They can literally leave the web page to do its own work.

To become an affiliate marketer, it is ideal to have a computer, internet connection, and a website. But it is not imperative. It is certainly possible to work from internet café’s or kiosks, using turnkey feeder sites supplied by some programs (see below). The advantage of having your own equipment and website is that you can choose what hours to work – late at night, weekends etc.

For those very new to marketing, take the time to look at some affiliate site merchants to see what type of opportunities there are available. Decide if you would be best with web page devoted to just one topic and which will sell many products associated with the topic, or whether one page to per product is best.

If you feel that you would like some professional help in setting up an affiliate marketing website, there are some highly regarded companies like, Wealthy Affiliates, who, for less than a dollar a day will take you step by step through the process. Some include ongoing training, support, advice and attractive members-only bonuses and, incredibly, website-building software (with great tutorials) as part of the deal.

So, whether you build a webpage and write about your hobby, and sell associated products, or find a stand-alone product you believe you can promote, there are affiliate internet marketing opportunities available to match your needs.

New Video Upload Service Needed!

Published by JamesSchramko under Articles

I upload a lot of videos so I decided to research my options. I thought it was worth sharing my results and have compiled a summary of what I was trying to achieve – and most involved in internet marketing would have the same goals.

You see Google Video was great because it quite good quality and it did NOT display advertising. The other benefit was the externally hosted bandwidth was free. However, they have stopped allowing uploads.

Amazon S3 For Internet Marketers

Published by JamesSchramko under Articles

Since Google Video stopped allowing uploads I needed to find a better way to get externally hosted videos onto my site.

Amazon S3 is a natural choice for people involved in internet marketing because it is super robust and very cheap. The only downside is that it is not very easy to make players. Storage and strength is the main benefit.
