Parenting Teens Can be a Challenge

Published by osquare under Articles

In this brief article we will discuss a little about parenting teens. It can sometimes be difficult when the teen immediately responses with resentment. The way your teen see’s it, is that there is no other parent that is so obsessive about taking away some of there freedom. If you had a young child and he or she was wanting to do something that really was not good for him or her, then chances are you would not have any problem turning them down so they would not get in trouble. Also, you probably would apply some sternness if it were needed.

Those parents that are new to parenting teens do notice that their adolescents will not seem completely logical part of the time. And chances are they would be right most of the time. Due to the way the human brain develops over time, not all areas will grow consistently or uniformly. So what can we expect when that happens? Well, some of the things will seem a bit more important than they need to be, like what their friends think, and other things will seem less important, like sensible basic rules about safety.

Disciplining teens can work as long as your teen will see some consistent demonstration that you care more for them than anything else in the world. At first your teen may behave a little strange, but deep inside they are just waiting to burst forward. Just remember, do all you can with lots of love and discipline and try not to take it too personal when they get out of hand. You will need to be very strong and firm as you continue down the path of raising your teen.

Strategies for Aggressive Behavior in Children

Published by jaskilgore under Articles

One of my favorite behavior strategies is the behavior chart. Although this doesn’t work with severely Aggressive Behavior in Children, it can have a great effect on children who are simply disobedient. Basically what you have to do is make a chart indicating what behaviors are expected of the child. When he or she behaves well, you can give him or her a star. When the kid behaves badly, you can give him an x or some other kind of negative mark. Then you set out punishments linked to bad behaviors and rewards links to good behaviors. If the child behaves well, he can earn privileges or even occasional presents. When he behaves badly, he should lose privileges around the house. In that way, you can begin to train your child to behave well all the time. It takes a lot of time and patience, but it will work in the long run.

Teenage Behavior, One of the 7 mysteries of the universe

Published by jaskilgore under Articles

If you’ve got a teenager in your household, I know I won’t have any trouble convincing you that teenage behavior can be baffling, irrational and enough to drive you crazy, at times. You love your child to pieces, would do anything for them and spend sleepless nights trying to figure out how you might improve communications.

The love between you is unconditional, yet there are those incidents which leave you at an absolute loss for words! For example, you wander into the kitchen, where your teen is preparing a snack. You just happen to be there for a glass of water. You’re sideswiped with an undeserved remark. ìOh, I just hate it when you come snooping on me!î Whoa. You do a mental regroup. ìHey, sweetie, I just came for a glass of water. I didn’t even know you were out in the kitchen!î The response? ìCan I just fix my food, puhleeze?î Well, OK, you can do that. Your feelings are hurt. You really didn’t mean to…
